“Why are we even broadcasting to the North? In this day and age, everything is already on the internet. You can find anything just by searching online, so what’s the point of sending out shortwave broadcasts?” Does the President of South Korea seriously believe that North Koreans can just “search the web” to see what’s happening outside their country? And why is Pyongyang FM suddenly broadcasting directly into South Korea, right when South Korea stopped its own broadcasts for the first time in 15 years?? Is this a joke?
