We would not purchase a single dollar’s worth of candy from this individual. His history of hyping and dumping predatory narratives is a matter of public record, and we prefer to keep our distance from such sketchy figures. It is a hard pass for us. There are many Japanese listed robotics companies that serve as far better proxies for the robotics narrative.

This podcast is timely. Getting to hear @Rewkang was refreshing because all eye are on AI yet it's only an optimization variable. Humanoid robotics are the true 4th Industrial Revolution variable. He did not assuage the concern that China will lead a race to the bottom and suck a lot of profit out of robots. Unfortunately I think longer term upside will be capped once mass robots results in them just being yet another oversupplied electromechanical “appliance” like your dishwasher or Roomba. How much is Whirlpool worth? Apple is the unique exception for consumer electronics profits, not the rule.

If we get the world Elon prescribes where every human has a robot, what happens to human social life and purpose? If the bad consequences of this life outweigh the good then why go down that path??
