Not every apology deserves forgiveness.

Guilt tripping by our people has become a norm. It takes extra courage and decision not to allow them cajole you into making a decision that will favor them and not you.

You are right!

Someone wrote: There is a dangerous culture we don’t talk about enough. In many of our communities, apology has been turned into a shortcut around justice. Someone commits a terrible wrong — betrayal, fraud, abuse, exploitation — and once they say “I am sorry,” the conversation immediately shifts. Not toward repairing the damage… but toward pressuring the victim. “Forgive now.” “Let it go.” “Are you God?” “Don’t destroy his future.” “You too have made mistakes.” “Must you ruin someone’s life?” Suddenly, the person who was hurt becomes the one on trial. The criminal is surrounded with sympathy. The victim is surrounded with lectures. We have created a society where the offender fears the law less than the shame, and fears the shame less than the discomfort of the community — because they know the community will soon rescue them with forced forgiveness. Forgiveness is beautiful when it is voluntary. It becomes violence when it is demanded. An apology is not justice. Tears are not restitution. Regret is not accountability. You cannot steal a man’s livelihood, cry in public, and expect his hunger to forgive you. You cannot break a person’s body or mind and then accuse them of wickedness for wanting the law to speak. When we pressure the wounded to forgive before they have healed, what we are really protecting is not peace — it is convenience. We are telling victims: “Your pain is disturbing our comfort.” So they learn silence. They stop reporting. They stop trusting. And offenders learn the most dangerous lesson a society can teach: “If you cry well enough, you will never face consequences.” This is how corruption survives. This is how abuse repeats. This is how predators grow bold. Justice is not revenge. Justice is protection for the next person. Forgiveness can happen in the heart. But accountability must happen in the society. A community that treats accountability as cruelty and silence as virtue does not produce peace — it produces fear dressed as harmony. Not every apology deserves immediate forgiveness. And the person seeking justice is not the villain. Sometimes, they are the only reason evil stops.

Most people do what they did because they know at the end, they will apologize and the act will be forgiven…. I co stand by it, not every apology deserves forgiveness. Let people face the consequences of there actions! Period!

💯👏👏👏

You don’t have to forgive if the person keeps hurting you. Forgiveness should come from trust, not just words.

Well spoken. Purposely betraying you And use forgiveness to get back. It’s an Unf@ir world 🌎

@ChisomAdaora They will put victims on trial just to force forgiveness out of them.

S@D Reality. Someone would boldly tell u , how would I prove my love , if it’s not when you can forgive my m£ss ups. The entitlement to my forgiveness

Words of wisdom. I attribute all dz inverted socialization to d "Arrogance of Xtianity" The church n clergy think they are divine n above d laws of d society. They arrogate final say to themselves n their doctrines Remorse n forgiveness DO NOT replace restitution nor cleansing

Well said

Things really don fall apart

You’re very right. Individuals are standing on apology to perpetuate evil. For them forgiveness is a must from the victim. No more justice. No more accountability, if you don’t forgive you’re the evil one. This is so sad. 😞

Things fall apart

Well spoken. There is this common criminal I know. He will intentionally commit a fraud and when caught the first thing is to cry and ask for forgiveness. When you refuse to forgive, he starts a smear campaign and still tell people he cried and asked for forgiveness.

Very on point. Unapologetically true. Carefully rendered. Those who know will understand.
