@wesstreeting @wesstreeting please let us know which health insurance and tech companies have lobbied for this policy. They stand to gain. The benefits for the public are more nuanced. In fact you could argue more negatives...Gattaca and 1984 springs to mind.

@wesstreeting Here's the thought process: "Will this allow me to funnel tens of billions to my friends in private healthcare?" Thus ends the thought process.

@wesstreeting Who owns your personal DNA data? It should belong to the person - not be sold or rented out to global profit making corporates anxious to exploit NHS even further. Streeting will not take on the food giants creating epidemic of diabetes & obesity with UP food.

@wesstreeting They work for big business & they don't care about implications We are commodities to be traded pure & simple including newborns Makes the Alderhey scandal pale into insignificance Presumably parents have no say over their baby's tissues or rights

@wesstreeting Nope instead millions of worried well - genetics only gives probabilities and often v low - but that is hard to convey and people always look at worse case - in my area genetics for prostate cancer screening for a disease that all Men will eventually get some degree of!

@pchapman24 @wesstreeting Every aspect of your life will be changed by this. Insurance cover. Mortgages. Diagnosis is not always right. Someone I know diagnosed 6 months to live still alive & doing very well after 7 years now. Thankfully they did not sell up everything thinking I must do it now 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
