According to Wontumi, President Mahama collapsed his business in 2013 by seizing 500 of his excavators and 400 pickups. He questioned whether the president doesn't fear him for still standing firm in his business, boasting that during Mahama’s first term, national security operatives had to negotiate with him before the president could enter the Ashanti Region. Chairman Wontumi further dared Mahama, claiming he could not face him, not even with the support of soldiers and insisted he could not be intimidated.
