The trial has been about her mental state, not whether she physically caused the deaths. She pleaded not guilty. There is no public, standalone “I murdered them of my own free will” confession in the usual sense. The admissions come through statements to her then-husband, clinicians, a chaplain, and a stipulation in court that she caused the deaths while still arguing she should not be held legally responsible.
