Well yeah, this is pretty obvious. What did people think Edward Snowden was hinting at back in 2011? The prevailing idea that you are safe from having your entire reality flipped, or even your life taken from you at any time by the state (or anyone with enough money) just because rights exist on paper is the biggest lie society still lives inside.
