If they could just start making 1970 Chevelle‘s with 396 hemi‘s in them again, I would be perfectly fine with that even without air conditioning. Maybe just some better brakes and steering.

They added a bunch of non-standard / custom stuff on there. Of course the resell value isn't there. Buying new can make sense if you get a good deal and get standard options.
