Absolutely wonderful development. You really are making steady progress improving this great program. Could you consider linking NotebookLM to google scholar directly or to say deep research so if you do a specific search you can directly download your articles into a notebook? If you could link a reference manager such as Zotero to NotebookLM it would more easily allow us to interact with articles we have already found which is the major strength of this program rather than just do a search or asking a question to a LLM. Is asking for the ability to link NotebookLM to other programs via MCP too much of a stretch?

Have you tried customizing your video overviews? We uploaded a doc with a simple algebraic equation and guided it with this prompt: “Help me solve this puzzle. Walk through the thinking process and how you determine the values of each shape. Make sure to show the images of the shapes as you talk about them. Keep it super easy to understand for someone who isn't strong in algebra.” Check out how effectively NotebookLM is able to explain and solve the problem. We're SO excited for what this means for learning use cases (and hope you are too). Try it out and let us know what you think!
