@GahNotThisAgain Fun fact - there hasn’t been any reported human deaths as a result of a red bellied black snake bite, ever, they’ll hurt like hell and make you real sick typically requiring hospitalisation, but considered one of the least dangerous venomous elapids in Australia 🤷🏼‍♂️

Steph McLaren ™️ ❤️‍🔥's profile picture
Steph McLaren ™️ ❤️‍🔥22 days ago

@GahNotThisAgain They’re very very timid which results in less bites to humans

@GahNotThisAgain Apparently circa 35 bites a year, but my experience recently was it was happy to just go on its way, like most things if you let them be.

@GahNotThisAgain Yep. Where I am I only see lowland copperheads and eastern browns haven’t seen a red belly but I’m sure one has seen me!

@GahNotThisAgain Once saw a huge nest of baby copperheads crossing the road in Numurkah, I’d never seen my sister run so fast 😂

Probably defending nearby nest Or Just has a mean streak in him. I mean who likes red belly black snakes anyway?

99% of Birds will eat a snake if given the chance. Chickens would have destroyed that snake in seconds.

I love spring in Australia, snakes are coming out of hibernation, Magpies are attacking other birds are mating and nesting and some of the tussles birds and goannas get up as the goanna tries to get to the nests in trees for the eggs are gigantic. As they say only in Australia.

Leave the snake alone, you mongrel bird. I have never forgiven you for destroying my garden. You didn’t eat the plants (and you won’t eat the snake) you just ripped everything to pieces.

Lotta larger birds over here protect their nests by harassing smaller/medium sized snakes like this, lived in a bunch of places where it's very common to see

I saw a Kookaburra do this with a snake, only he killed it and ate it. Not sure what type of snake it was, but it was fucking badass.

Non-australians may not be aware that cockatoos are complete pricks.

I love how cockatoos flyover every so often on a Sunday morning screeching their lungs out. It's like they know everyone's trying to sleep and they do it just to be cunts.

Cockatoos are a pain in the arse. Used to get hundreds of them squawking and shitting over my old block. Leave the snake alone.

Damn. Sad that they may have had to kill the snake, though, if it was approaching their pets and even their home.
