That focus on their hands was deliberate. Not only did Unjeong not want anyone else touching her hand but look how quickly he covered her hand to prevent that, and then how gently he removed her hand from his jacket and held onto it, and let it slip slowly out of his as they dragged her away. I don’t think for one minute he wanted to do this, but he also felt he had no choice. I also think he was still lying to himself that he didn’t care what happened to her.
