Elizabeth McGovern was only 18 while filming Robert Redford's "Ordinary People" (1980)— her debut feature. After auditioning for the movie & being cast in the role of Jeannine Pratt, she was accepted into Juilliard as a student. Redford was so impressed with her but Juilliard had the policy of not allowing any of their students to act in a movie or play once they get admitted in the school. But her chemistry with Timothy Hutton was great & he, along with everyone in the crew were convinced that she was perfect for the role. One day, after thinking it wasn't possible to land her for the role, Robert Redford had invited Marie Osmond to read with Hutton for the role. Redford knew her family very well as they were from Utah. A week later, Redford suddenly went to New York unannounced, pleaded with the management of Juilliard and struck a deal to have them allow Elizabeth McGovern to appear for filming on the weekends. This way, she didn't miss any of the classes and managed to complete the movie. ("Timothy Hutton: Why Elizabeth McGovern Almost Wasn't In "Ordinary People" | FOLCS", 2026) P.S: Happy 65th birthday, Elizabeth McGovern!

She really thought the officer wouldn’t know how her limited driving privileges worked — and apparently figured arrest wasn’t even on the menu. She drove 2–3 miles before stopping, tried explaining the rules back to him, ignored the order to stay in the car… then suddenly wanted a “second chance.” That confidence disappeared QUICK. She ended up facing three issues: improper display of the temporary tag, failure to comply with an officer’s signal, and resisting arrest. Acting like the cop doesn’t know the law he’s enforcing is a bold strategy.

A man has narrated how a simple act of kindness ended in trouble after he offered a woman a lift from Amasaman to Pokuase. According to him, the woman had pleaded with him at Amasaman for a ride to Pokuase to attend to an emergency. He explained that during the journey, the woman suddenly asked him to stop so she could alight. However, after stopping, she refused to get down and shockingly insisted that he must pay her before she would leave the vehicle. The situation escalated into a confrontation, drawing the attention of some men nearby who approached the scene. The woman then accused him of having an affair with her and claimed he owed her GHS1,000 for her services. The man said the onlookers forced him to bargain with the woman, eventually compelling him to pay GHS700 through a mobile money transfer.

How does a “Fashion Week debut” start and end with inviting yourself and then getting permanently banned from the front row?😭 Meghan Markle forced her way into last year’s Balenciaga show in Paris, complete with the dramatic security escort and grand self-important entrance. Her team spun it as the “culmination of years of friendship” and deep collaboration. The designer? He politely clarified she texted and asked to come.😩 Fast forward to this week’s haute couture show: snubbed. An insider gave the brutal six-word verdict - “Not after what happened last time.”💔 All that manufactured grandeur, the endless headlines, the try-hard PR… only to be remembered as the guest who invited herself and ended up blacklisted.🤭 Turns out no amount of PR can fake genuine acceptance, Meghan Markle. 💅🏻

Why is Diana Mariam Kurian (DMK) suddenly visiting Temples? Have you noticed these Dravida slave movie stars flocking Temples these days? Is it a sign of the times? Sudden Hindu Suriya and his intelligent wife Jyothika visited Temples Kanguva became a colossal disaster. RJ Balaji was seen visiting Temples after he was castigated for his silence during the Dravida model atrocities. And now it is Diana Mariam Kurian (DMK) popularly known as Nayanthara who tried her best to hurt the sentiments of Brahmins through that fiasco Annapoorani. But she was booted out mercilessly. The movie was taken down from Netflix owing to a united voice from Brahmins against that crappy movie! Why is Diana Mariam Kurian (DMK) now trying this stunt? Is it because of her to-be-released film Mookuthi Amman 2 which is co-produced by her husband? And the stunt is promoted by Sun TV!

I mean how can someone be like this??? Being famous has never stopped Ling from being caring, and playful. The mascot was clearly having trouble standing after being asked to spin on stage. Even after getting bumped herself, Ling still walked over to help steady it. And suddenly y’all are blind and didn’t see it when this happened. Yall never cared about the person inside that mascot. Instead, yall are just looking for another excuse to attack her. Keep believing whatever narrative you want. The facts are still there for everyone to see. #หลิงหลิงคอง #linglingkwong

Meet Komal Narang. She said in her old vlogs that her husband was her first love and she cannot imagine her life without him. > She says she was in a live-in relationship with a French guy during her college days in Paris, she hid it from her parents, and claims she couldn’t marry him because her parents were “strict.” > Later, she married her ex-husband. She made couple-goals travel vlogs with her husband, Lucky Singh, for years and made a lot of money on YouTube. > In her vlogs, she herself said it was "love at first sight" with Lucky Singh. > Funny part? Her own parents are divorced. > She used to call her husband supportive and the best thing that happened to her in her old vlogs. > After the marriage ended, she deleted all posts with her husband, took alimony, and now plays the victim and makes vlogs on how women should come out of toxic marriages.

Sep 2022. Joe Biden attacks Trump over the Mar-a-Lago raid, which we now know his DOJ forced despite the FBI not thinking it was justified. On 60 Minutes. Of course. After helping Biden sell the idea of an independent, non-partisan Biden DOJ, Pelley asks Biden to respond to the staged photo of documents on the floor: "How that could possibly happen? How it was that anyone could be that irresponsible." The raid provided an exploitable narrative for Biden, Democrats and their legacy media PR arm (that ultimately backfired.) Biden of course was later found to have his own trove of classified documents. No raid, though. That was (D)ifferent. The Biden DOJ was fully weaponized to try to imprison Trump before the 2024 election. The people that cheered all of this now cry about the supposed weaponization of justice under Trump.

After getting off work, a young woman walked up to her apartment building, unaware that a man had been trailing a few steps behind her. As she reached the entrance, the security camera captured him lingering close, watching as she unlocked the door. The footage later showed how he tried to slip inside before the door fully shut, but she quickly noticed and forced it closed just in time. It’s unsettling to think how vulnerable simple routines, like walking home, can be. Security systems can help, but awareness and quick instincts matter just as much. No one should feel unsafe just trying to make it through their front door. How often do situations like this happen without cameras to reveal the danger?

After 3 days of shooting, it became clear to Luis Buñuel that Maria Schneider wouldn't be able to play the part of Conchita in "That Obscure Object of Desire" (1977). He was in despair after a "tempestuous argument" with her. The shooting was brought to a halt & Serge Silberman, the producer had decided to abandon the movie altogether. The considerable financial loss it ensued was depressing to both Buñuel and Silberman. One day, both of them were drowning their sorrows in a bar. After 2 dry martinis, Buñuel suddenly got the idea to cast two actresses for the same role. An idea which had never been done before. He told it to Silberman as a joke but he loved it & they proceeded to make the movie with Carole Bouquet & Ángela Molina as Conchita, the lead character. P.S: On this day, 49 years ago, "That Obscure Object of Desire" (1977) was released in France.

Two patients got a poop transplant for C. diff… and suddenly started growing hair again. That unexpected result hooked Dr. Sabine Hazan. She saw alopecia areata disappear after fecal transplants from healthy donors — and in other cases, it appeared. So she started digging: is there a specific microbe linked to hair growth? Could the same microbiome signals be involved in Alzheimer’s, autism, or Parkinson’s? Her own experience with Alzheimer’s improving after a fecal transplant only deepened the question. Her blunt takeaway: “There’s got to be something more to poop than just poop.” It’s a fascinating window into how much we still don’t understand about the gut microbiome and its potential role in neurological and autoimmune conditions.

I just rewatched Ladies First on Netflix, and this movie still hits hard. It starts in a world where men run everything making decisions for women, silencing their opinions, and only giving them a seat at the table for appearance's sake. One woman is promoted as a creative director in her company just so they can say they support feminism, yet no one listens to her voice. But then everything switches. Women become the ones in power, and men experience the same treatment women have endured for years. Suddenly, he has to fight to be heard, prove himself constantly, and even compromise his dignity to move up the ladder. What makes this movie powerful is not just the role reversal but how clearly it exposes the unfair standards society normalises every day. Sometimes people only understand pain when they’re forced to live through it.
