honestly I read a tonal shift in the questions he asks her after checking out Santos wasn't paying attention and I do think it is kinda asshole behavior to ask a homeless patient if they have time for them to be treated. We def didn't see them asking that of other patients

I mean it’s kind of the way he talks, if the ER docs had a script he’s reading it ver batim. I saw the scene more as him looking at Santos bc he’s afraid of being alone after screwing up and pulling the glass shard
