November 15, 1991: This was the first regular season game between Isiah Thomas and John Stockton after it was announced that Stockton - and not Zeke - would play for the Dream Team in 1992. Thomas tortured Stockton. Zeke finished with 44 points on 22 FG attempts

Dudes really played their matchup positions no ducking no putting a big guard to slow him up.

More context: Stockton had 20 & 13 on 6-10 shooting (3-4 from three). He averaged 15.8 ppg on just 11.5 shots & lead the NBA in assists & steals (13.7 apg & 3 spg) for a 55 win Jazz team that made the WCF. Thomas: 18.5 ppg on 16.2 shots, 7.2 apg, 1.5 spg, Pistons lose 1st round

More context: Titles: Zeke: 2 Stockton: zero

I miss the days when basketball players getting pissed off meant they played 2x as good the next game.

Think about how disliked Isiah was to have USA BB & its players say we’ll be better off as a team w/out him. His personality & character kept him off the team, not his abilities.

Real basketball people know he was better than Stockton, and should have been on that team!!

This was personal!!! Zeke had nothing but Killer Mode on vs Stockton 😂💪🏿 @IsiahThomas OG am I right?

Kyrie 💯

should be a quick lesson to younger fans in these debates that point to stats. Isiah could have avg 30+ if he was shooting 22 shots a game. And he definitely isn't the only PG who thats true for. It was a different style/game.

ppl forget or are too young to remember how good he was. Malone did this later that year...
