I love Star Trek starting with Next Generation and through most of Discovery (until it so woke it was painful). I can’t watch the Academy franchise at all. I tried episode one and was so damn confused I gave up. Star Trek by default has always been inclusive.. no reason to fuck it up.

I was trying to power through Star Trek Discovery, made it to the end of Season 4, then Stacey Abrams appeared. That was the end of it for me.

To say Starfleet Academy is a bad show is to not recognize its true purpose. It was designed specifically to destroy the Star Trek intellectual property, and more importantly, subvert the culture that created it. The point is cultural destruction.

That would suck. The problem these days is that CBS and Paramount have to agree before anything original Star Trek can be made. They can make something that is bastardized Star Trek. So it would seem the key here is that the two parties have agreed that only bastardized Star Trek can now be made because clearly someone hates the property. As much money as that property has made them, they hate the property and they hate the audience.
