Funny that California reminds us that they have the 5th largest GDP in the world as a state. Yet still need to borrow equipment from Canada because they’re ill prepared for something that happens yearly in their state. You’d think they’d spend some of that money on prevention.

Please stop insulting the intelligence, self determination and the freedom of Canadians. Our amazing sisters and brothers up north are using these amphibious 'Super Scooper' airplanes from Quebec to pick up saltwater from the Santa Monica Bay and drop on the Palisades Fire. We love Canada!

"We have no percentage of containment," LA County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone said of the Palisades Fire, which has burned well over 5,000 acres and continues to grow. There are no reported fatalities in this fire, but there have been a high number of “significant injuries to residents who did not evacuate” in addition to first responders.

Two Super Scooper planes were deployed to help fight the fires. One was hit by a drone and is now out of service. Does the US not have firefighting planes?? Why do we have to get these planes from Canada? Why only 2??

ADMIRAL BRAD COOPER: “You may have heard the president say, just a little while ago, that we have sunk or destroyed 24 ships. That was true at the moment, we're now up over 30 ships." "In just the last few hours, we hit an Iranian drone carrier ship, roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. And as we speak, it's on fire.”

If You Fly, We Can’t: A Critical Reminder from CAL FIRE 🚒 Yesterday, air operations on the Palisades Fire had to pause after a Canadian water-dropping aircraft struck a drone. This isn’t just dangerous—it puts lives, homes, and entire communities at risk. When drones are in the air, firefighting aircraft can’t do their job. Every second counts in a wildfire, and this delay could have devastating consequences. Flying a drone near a wildfire is not only reckless—it’s illegal. Let’s all do our part to ensure the skies are clear for the professionals protecting us. #IfYouFlyWeCant #WildfireSafety #CALFIRE

NEW: 🇷🇴A major forest fire has broken out near Plauru, Tulcea County, close to the Romanian-Ukrainian border. The fire started at around 17:50 in a forest managed by Romsilva, initially affecting approximately 0.5 hectares. According to Romsilva, local residents said the fire may have been caused by the explosion of a drone. Forestry workers, volunteer firefighters and local residents are currently working to contain the blaze. The location is particularly notable because Tulcea County is the Romanian area most affected by drone incidents and RO-Alert warnings during Russian attacks on Ukraine. As of now, Romania’s Ministry of Defence has not confirmed that a drone entered Romanian airspace in connection with the incident. For now, the drone explanation comes from local accounts cited by Romsilva, so we should wait for further confirmation from Romanian authorities before drawing conclusions.
