This is an attempt to normalize a police state. To normalize regular violations of the 4th Amendment. This is not the way to deal with crime. Lock up the criminals instead of repeatedly letting them back out on the streets and causing this problem!

We could simply just stop and frisk thugs on the streets and have more officers on the subway cars and end no cash bail ofc …and actually prosecute crime

PURE SPECULATION: To me, this doesn't look a proportional response to "normal" crime. To me, this looks like a response to a terror threat they deemed credible.
