After this man spent over $300 at his local store. When he was leaving the store they asked to see his receipt, he declined. So they detained him and called the police. The police came and took his cart away from him and was pushing it back to the store. After they were going to arrest him for not leaving, he finally, finally shows the receipt and they let him take his stuff he bought. Usually if they ask to see it and you refuse, it’s not a huge deal. But in this instance he had many high priced items not in bags, you can see just the boxes in the cart. Maybe put a sign at the door that you will be checked if items over a certain dollar amount isn’t in a bag, would that be reasonable?

I agree, if this information turns out to be accurate, the prosecution will have to contend with it. At the very least, the defense will have an interesting point to raise come trial. But since we’re focusing on details. And since we’re all just asking questions: 1) Tyler is alleged to have paid with credit card. This is with debit, albeit visa. That seems to be a discrepancy that needs to be answered. 2) The entire debit card number is blacked out. Do the last four digits match what was given to the FBI? 3) According to the waiter, Tyler ordered two beers. This receipt shows no beers, and one soft drink. I appreciate that sometimes alcohol is separated from the main meal when ordered at a bar, but that is typically when the drinks are ordered at the bar, and the meal at the table. But even if that is the case, can we see the receipt for the two beers, and the matching numbers on what I presume would be the same card? 4) Where is the receipt for the two beers that this waiter says Tyler ordered? On the 13th of Sept, someone transferred 180k for an iPhone Xs 256GB. After acknowledging his receipt, he called, and I told him we don't have it but will ask colleagues and let him know. I asked my friend, and he told me 190k. I begged him to leave it at 180k because that is what the guy deposited (check frame 2 for reference). When he sent the phone from Kano to Jos, then I noticed it was an Xs Max. Seeing that the guy was in a hurry and didn't want to disappoint, I called him and told him what happened and said if he wants the Max, he can take it at no additional cost. I was willing to settle the difference because it was his first time buying from us. I packaged it with a new premium charger because all our used phones are sent packaged in our branded box with a charger, and I sent it to him in Abuja. He later messaged that he has received the phone and truly appreciates it. After months of not receiving any complaints from him, it clearly indicates that he has received a fully functioning phone. It is in our policy that if you find anything faulty within one week, you can return it to us and either ask for a replacement or refund. What this means is that the cost of bringing it from Kano to Jos, the packaging and charger, and the delivery to Abuja are all a loss to me. But I didn't mind because at least I have satisfied him. Nine weeks later, while I was in Kano, I saw a call from an unknown number. When I picked up, he said it was him. He told me that the camera has started giving him problems. I told him it has been months since you bought it, but you can take it to any repair store and tell me how much you spent, and I will pay. He asked if I know anyone, and I sent him someone's number. The guy didn't pick; he texted and informed me and later called me. I told him to go to anyone he trusts and let me know the amount he spent. A few days later, I was stranded between Kaduna and Abuja on my trip from Kano to Abuja because my car engine failed. He called, and I didn't pick; I don't even know his number. Later in the night, I received his messages on WhatsApp with a threat that he will make a video to tarnish the image of my business. Someone I was willing to help after months of buying a USED device from me is threatening me. I said he should go ahead because I can't entertain him anymore. In conclusion, a trade that I incurred a loss from is what some people are trying to justify as a scam. The beautiful part is I have made trades with hundreds of people here, and I would love two more people to come out and present a case in which they are still using a device I sold to them that is faulty and they contacted me for a replacement or refund, and I didn't do it instantly. This dad called 911 because his seven year old autistic son wasn’t behaving and was having a tantrum. The officer that spoke with him told the father that it was completely inappropriate to call the police over this. He said they have an entire town to protect and three officers responded and then asks the dad while chuckling - “can’t handle a seven year old?” The dad tells him that he has called 911 twice before but no one has ever got mad at him like this officer. The officer tells him that they are approaching charging him with false summoning a police officer. He also tells him that if he can’t handle a seven year then maybe they should get CYS involved because clearly the dad needs parenting classes. 😳 Many said the officer was rude and didn’t have to be. That his job is to protect and SERVE the community and that the family was just reaching out, that he needed support and someone to to talk to because they have no idea how hard it is to raise an autistic child? But others said this is not a job for a police officer, that they aren’t counselors and therapists and that there are many resources available through the city that he should using. 💯 I am team police officer. Some may find it rude but this is not in their job description. And being the third time? You have to put a stop to the 911 calls. What do you think? Do you think the officer had a right to be upset and talk the way he was talking to the dad being that this is the third time this has happened? This man was criticized for expecting a “thank you” for a good deed. He always saw the same man walking when he drove to work. He assumed the man was walking because he did not have any other means of transportation. He used his own money and bought the man an electric scooter, the man took the scooter and just silently walked away, no thank you or anything else at all. I don’t think that was too much to ask, a thank you goes a long way, otherwise it makes people look ungrateful. Back in college, I had a classmate that I always saw walking home after class. It didn’t matter whether it was raining or snowing, or hot out. Whenever I drove past him he always looked miserable and I could tell he didn’t like to walk all the time. In class I had asked him where he lived, and I found out it was on my way home so I offered to drop him off because it was really cold out and had snowed about a foot. He agreed and we chatted on the way home, nothing serious just pleasant conversation. I dropped him off and went on my way home. For me this was a one time thing, I only offered because how bad it was snowing. After class the next day, he walked with me and when I got to my car he got in. I didn’t agree or offer him a ride that day but he assumed that since I was ok with giving him a ride the day prior that I would be ok with it this day too. I didn’t say anything about it because at this point I didn’t care really. So the next day came and went, once again he walked with me to the car but that day was different. I wouldn’t be going his way because I had to work after class. So before I got to the car I said “I’ll see you tomorrow.” He looked dumbfounded and said aren’t you taking me home? I said no, I have to get to work. He then asked me how he would get home, and I told him the same way you always have. He then gave me excuses for why I was being a jerk because I was making him walk in the cold. I didn’t argue I just told him I helped him out when I could, but I wasn’t about to go out of my way because he didn’t have a car and besides I didn’t want to be late for work. He didn’t speak to me for the rest of the semester because of it, something tells me I was better off not offering to help in the first place.

I remember when I was young, around 10-11 years old. My parents were both asleep as was my brother. I heard a knock on the back door which was weird because who uses the back door at a stranger’s house? The kitchen window was close by so I take a look. It looked like a teenager but hard to tell because they had a hoodie with the hood up. I didn’t open the door but I did crack the window and asked them what they wanted. They replied they were lost and wanted to come in to warm up and use the phone. Even when it’s daylight I know never to let anybody in period that I didn’t know, but a stranger after midnight was weird enough. I said no because I didn’t know them. Then they said that hey knew my dad and that’s why he came by. I said that’s fine and all but I’m not letting you use our phone. This was before cellphones were widely used, we had a landline like most people. The person wouldn’t take no for an answer and I could sense he was getting angry. I went and woke up my dad, I told him there was somebody at the back door and that he said they knew him. He walked to the door and looked out and said he didn’t know him. But he did talk through the door and told him that he was calling the police and that he should just leave. The person just stood there until the police finally came and even they asked him what he was doing knocking on the door at that hour. He told them he was lost and thought this was a house of a family friend. The police told him my dad didn’t know him and made him leave. So was this a case of wrong house or was he up to something. It makes me still wonder to this day but I’m still glad I never opened the door.

Interesting. Just thinking out loud. The waiter says he recognized Tyler’s voice on the day of the 11th when a coworker showed him Tyler accepting his college letter. There’s an issue with that. Tyler wasn’t identified and arrested until 9 pm on the 11th. The video of Tyler didn’t come out until the 12th. So him recognizing Tyler’s voice on the 11th can’t be possibly true. And the only pictures released show a grainy face. So recognizing him I guess would be possible but not really. It’s just some skinny white guy in a hat. Tyler wouldn’t even have been wearing the same clothes or hat in the picture the FBI released. He had changed outfits. So this guy wouldn’t have recognized the clothes either. So the owner is saying……No information to establish he was there? The original receipt would be evidence. Investigation on going. The timeline doesn’t fit. He couldn’t get back to Orem to have the run in with the officer at 11:30. If he left at 9:47 it would be 12:30 before he could get there if he never stopped. And they have a metadata from his phone and the highway cameras from I-15 showing his movements and the times. They would know if he was in that area. And if the defense had an indication he was there they’d have brought it up at the prelim to show he couldn’t have been looking for the gun that night when the texts happened. I think the waiter at the restaurant was mistaken. And I think the fact he said beer but the receipt says soda makes me think that even more. And his timeline is off. There’s no way on the 11th he heard Tyler’s voice and very little chance he recognized him on that day as he said. I feel bad for the owner. This waiter sent Candace this information. So now his restaurant is being bombarded. Wonder if the guy still has his job. I’d love to know what day the owner called the FBI saying his employee thought he recognized Tyler. That would tell a lot.
