This is the kind of story that should be front-page news. These 18 students in Yancey County, NC, didn’t just sit back and wait for someone else to solve the problem, they took action. They saw a need, stepped up, and used their skills to help people in their community. No whining, no handouts, no excuses, just hard work, compassion, and real impact. This is what real education looks like, teaching kids practical skills while instilling a sense of duty and service. These students deserve national recognition, but instead, the media would rather focus on nonsense. Good on these kids, their teacher, and their parents for raising them right.
