could this be a cheaper(?) and more effective(?) way of creating an isolating roof with mycelium? Or do you need to harvest the mushrooms then from time to time? ;) Like this but mycelium and mushrooms:

Could these be used to create a radiation and heat barrier? Place these in between the outer shell of the environment and the living space. If we could somehow program the mycelium to grow in an area that is experiencing, say a sun flare. @DARPA is working on something similar.

They're mostly water, grow incredibly fast, like it moist and and don't stay around long. Could just high evaporation rate of water cause this ?

@joerogan So my spouse took pic w/phone. He was driving home. He’s into planes so it was flying over him so he took pic. It looks like a moth next to it. Had to be huge for phone camera to capture it. What do you think it is? This was in Tucson back in 2018.
