🐧 I got a lot of help from taehyun. i would share my recordings with taehyun and get feedback from him. 🐧i talk about music the most with taehyun. he’s objective but warm. he’s bit more on the objective side but that’s what i like because he’s friend that gives you define answer. 🐧 so i end up relying on him more and wanting more feedback from taehyun.

I called an angry customer! I keep doing surprise customer calls for every product that we build at Only What's Needed by Food Pharmer. In the early calls I did, I used to reveal its Food Pharmer, and then people used to just praise the product. Now, I don’t reveal it’s me till the very end of the call because I want to hear the real feedback even when it’s negative. Negative feedback matters more to us than positive feedback. That’s how we improve. Even when someone shares something positive, I still try to understand what could be better, in taste, texture, packaging. We’re not building Only What’s Needed just for you, but with you. So any feedback you have to share, we’re always listening.

Do you spend a lot of time monitoring these discussions online? ​Whether player feedback is good or bad, the most critical factor is our mindset as developers. When we choose to look at feedback, we must be very clear about our purpose. Our goal must be to extract insights that help us make the game better; that is where the real value lies. ​It’s not about seeking "emotional validation." To be honest, I truly feel that looking for validation doesn't provide much value. ​So, when you decide to dive into the feedback, you need to have a specific mindset: you must be determined to find the factors or "clues" that can help the product improve. ​Game development is a user-facing industry. Dealing with feedback is something you have to face, practice, and get better at. If you let yourself be swayed or discouraged by a random, emotionally charged comment, that, in my opinion, is a sign of being unprofessional. #WutheringWaves #WuWa
