In Paris, I met with President Donald J. Trump Joe Biden. We discussed Ukraine's defense capabilities, the battlefield situation, and our preparations to sign a bilateral security agreement. To ensure effective protection against daily Russian terror, Ukraine must be able to strike military targets on Russian territory. It is also critical to strengthen the Kharkiv region's defense and accelerate the delivery of American weapons. I thank the United States for standing with Ukraine. It is very important for our people to feel that we are not alone, that we are with you, our strategic partner. We also appreciate the United States' leadership in advancing the Peace Formula.

We are working on the results of our recent negotiations – meetings in Europe and discussions with our partners. I had a conversation with President Biden, and we are preparing for meetings in Ukraine with the American team, including political and military representatives. We are developing our Victory Plan in discussions with our partners. Additionally, preparations for the second Peace Summit – good faith diplomacy – are underway. Our goal is to end the war in a way that guarantees safety and peace for all Ukrainians and for Ukraine as a whole. I am grateful to every leader and every country that has understood our security arguments and is ready to help steer the current situation toward peace.

Today, our team met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the United States. This is important for the whole world: diplomacy continues, and we are working to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. No one wants this war. The teams will continue discussions tomorrow. The key issue is to understand how ready Russia is to move toward a real end to the war – honestly and with dignity – especially now, when geopolitical tensions have increased due to the situation around Iran. I held a Staff meeting. Today, there was also a separate report from the Minister of Defense. The top priority is air defense — securing systems and missile supplies for them. Our agreements with partners. Contracts. Our readiness to produce air defense systems in Ukraine and negotiations regarding licensing. There were reports from the military and government officials. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with specific responsibilities. We will seek to reach an agreement with the United States as well — an agreement on Patriots for Ukraine. We are ready to purchase the necessary number of Patriot systems for our country. This is not about charity. We have proposed concrete deal options — to protect our people. I’ve instructed our diplomats to work more actively toward a response on Patriots.

We are working with all our partners on air defense for Ukraine – this is the first priority. Anti-ballistic capabilities are now in short supply globally because of the war with Iran, but we must look for solutions. We are trying to accelerate work in Europe on producing our own anti-ballistic capabilities on the continent in sufficient quantities. We will also continue engaging with the United States regarding its ability to support Ukraine. The PURL program is working, and we are grateful for that. Europe is helping us financially. But strong leadership from the United States in expanding anti-ballistic production is also urgently needed.

This is already Ukraine’s ninth such agreement, and it is important that more and more partners are joining this format, which opens up greater opportunities for joint defense production, the exchange of expertise, and transparency in weapons exports. Together, we are building a new security architecture. I thank Denmark, and personally Mette, for this step toward strengthening our shared defense. It was with Denmark that we began joint production in Ukraine under the Danish model, and it is absolutely fair that Denmark will now have access to Ukrainian exports of weapons tested in war. Today, we also discussed with the Prime Minister Statsministeriet the strengthening of our air defense and work on European anti-ballistic defense. It is extremely important for us right now to receive Patriot missiles as quickly as possible and to jointly develop our own European capabilities to counter ballistic threats.
