NUCLEAR 101: Fast reactors use fast-moving neutrons to make better use of nuclear fuel. They can operate on both fissile material and recycled fuel from other reactors to drastically reduce waste while increasing the performance of nuclear power plants. Here’s how they work:

On CNBC, Oklo CEO Jake DeWitte discussed how advanced nuclear can take advantage of additional fuel options in the near term and why surplus plutonium matters now: “It’s really a bridge fuel… a way to kick-start the build-up of advanced nuclear.” Last week, Oklo and Los Alamos National Laboratory completed a multi-day fast-spectrum plutonium experiment, generating data to support the use of surplus plutonium as a bridge fuel for commercial advanced reactors, including Oklo’s. It turns out the future isn’t wind and solar, It’s nuclear power Happening Now: Construction on 3 Nuclear Power Plants has begun to meet Google’s net zero company goals after demands for more power increased with ai “Oak Ridge, Tennessee, they're building three phases of experimental nuclear power plants here. These are called SMRs. Small modular reactors, smaller, cheaper, and safer than traditional power plants. Instead of fuel rods, they use these fuel pebbles. Cut it in half and you can see the simulated specs of uranium in there. These contain the byproducts. The client for all this is Google. Google's trying to reach its goals of being a net zero company, so they need a lot more clean power now that they're using all this AI stuff. So this company called Kairos Power is gonna build them with luck by 2030, a fleet of small modular reactors for clean, safe nuclear power forever.”

Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station. Hands down nuclear power is the safest and most abundant source of energy mankind has ever discovered. It is clean, can be reusable (breeder reactors), and has a body count far far less than all other energy production methods. It is the epitome of green. Which is why they dont want you to have it and deliberately conflate nuclear power with nuclear weapons. Meanwhile all the major tech companies are planning to build small modular nuclear power stations for their data centres whilst pushing the green agenda.
