SpaceX is responsible for a significant portion.

The size of the satellites as a bright dot is rather misleading. If from that distance from the earth you cant distinguish large features like an entire town or a stadium, you definitely can't see a satellite the size of a car. Their real size is a tiny fraction of a pixel.

And somehow we can still enjoy the stars, especially in places like Big Bend.
