He is definitely angry, and quite rightly so. The question is whether he is angry with himself over the substitutions, or angry yet again at the defence collapsing into disarray. My view, and I think I have said it already, is that the substitutions were a mistake. Sometimes the only way to stop a defence performing badly is to keep attacking, to ensure the opposition cannot keep pressing and piling pressure on you. We did that to Sunderland, and we did it again in the second half here. Areola played very well, aside from the first goal. I am not sure why he positioned himself that far across, but that may just be my opinion. Bringing Kilman on, though, felt like a collective intake of breath across the club. Not relief, but danger. Kilman is on. We had chances to win that game. We could have won it by four, but we did not take them. Despite the new players getting into good positions, they are still not sharp enough in the box. It is a tougher division than they are probably used to, but that is no excuse. They have to improve. The end of the game was chaotic. Christ Almighty. We then lose Kilman for three games for violent behaviour. And it is always the troublemakers who are the smaller ones, have you ever noticed? One minute you are riding high with West Ham, and the next you are flat on the floor again. That, unfortunately, is the West Ham way.
