Cybercabs in very large numbers are in action all over today at Giga Texas including back at the testing track. About a dozen were on or driving near the track, conducting lane selection, rumble strip and other tests. We heard yesterday from Wes Maldonado that Cybercabs do have audio capabilities to cancel out NVH so this might be part of the testing we are seeing, along with autonomous driving capabilities. Check out this new video clip of some of the action on this sunny day at the track!

Two Chinese automotive influencers share their testing of FSD v14.3.4 in Los Angeles. Before coming to the U.S., they believed Chinese autonomous driving systems such as Huawei ADS, XPeng VLA, and Li Auto ADAS were the world’s best. After spending several days extensively testing Tesla’s FSD, they changed their minds, acknowledging that Chinese systems still have room for improvement before catching up with FSD. At this point, it’s very clear that FSD is the benchmark for every autonomous system in China.

Happy 8 April (Wednesday) at Giga Texas, especially for those wanting an update on Cybercabs … I saw about 60 of them in two groups in the outbound lot today … the largest grouping yet! Also, looks like at least some of these have white seats and most still have clearly visible steering wheels … I will let you conclude what you wish from that, but these still do not look like the final “production” versions, so perhaps they are testing out some of the new features while testing some of the Robotaxi areas around the country.
