I dont think most people realize how crazy $249 for 70T actually is

It's inevitable: Nvidia is years ahead of others in foresight, forward planning, and execution. Tesla is their main competitor. Another Apple vs Android moment in the making.

I dont think people realize how crazy this is. For comparison's sake (disclaimer: I'm not expert): Ten Years Ago: $NVDA K80 GPU ~9 TOPS. To get to 70TN you'd need to spend north of 100K on GPU's alone. Five Years Ago: This level of performance would require a setup of multiple high end GPU's. $NVDA V100 had 125 tera ops/second to get to 70TN/second you'd probably have to spend ~$40k-50k (not including server and cooling systems) Last Year: multiple $NVDA A100 each ~$10,000.

So why is a damn 4090 still $1,600???????

249$ for an AI computer that is twice as fast as an Apple M4 chip

All that just to give it 8GB of memory? Surely increasing it to 16GB or 32GB wouldn’t have spiked the price too much. It can’t even run most 8B parameter models on 8GB of memory lol.

Sorry that this is off topic because I love Jensen Huang as much as all you guys. But there is something WEIRD going on.... All these CEO's are trying to be like Steve Jobs and just wear one thing that is like their uniform or branding. They get a style consultant/PR firm or whatever and turn themselves into a kids toy action figure. They are all doing it, Zuck, Huang, Hormozi, I get it but it's getting silly at this point. You don't have to wear a black jacket (mostly leather) everyday. You just don't. And a VC can still be a VC even if they aren't wearing a vest.

Who’s going to play with this toy!

i feel like NVIDIA is taking over everything now
