Nvidia $NVDA just has a small lead today 😅

Intel could not do a 7nm chip or a 5nm chip Nvidia is almost to a 1nm chip

One of the reasons I bought $NVDA back in 2011 was because I thought I missed out on $INTC I remember reading an article by @JamesStewartNYT who was an early investor in $INTC - he was highlighting the multiple stock splits of the nineties (4 in total and 1 in the year 2000) - I was also buying it because at the time people were talking about how $NVDA's GPU patents were worth the sum of the market cap of the stock. Who knew it would have an almost 2 trillion dollar market cap one day. Not me!

False equivalence. Intel produces chips. Nvidia produces cards.

Yup - Intel ceded leadership to NVIDIA a decade ago. They no longer define the frontier of Moore's Law. This graph covers a 10,000,000,000,000,000,000x improvement in computation/$. Intel lost to NVIDIA for neural networks because the fine-grained parallel compute architecture of a GPU maps better to the needs of deep learning.

The commentary in the video is underrated.

High paid CEOs vs scrappy, stock compensation based founder/CEO

Slow and steady always wins the race.

Who ever chose the colours of this chart should be sacked

Bitcoin created a demand for hashing power which resulted in increase investment by GPU manufactures. Which catalyzed deep learning advancements since it dramatically reduced the time needed to run an experiment.
