"Come Dancing" sounds cheerful until you learn the story behind it. Ray Davies wrote the song partly for his older sister Rene, who died of a heart attack after going dancing in 1957. Earlier that same day, she had given young Ray the Spanish guitar he had wanted for his birthday, the same gift that helped spark his future in music.
