Bill Maher gets blindsided as MTG tells him that Obamacare has crushed the middle class. Maher couldn’t believe it. “Obamacare has crushed them? Obamacare is what’s hurt them?” he asked. Greene backed it up with how much she’s paying for health insurance since Obamacare began: “When Obamacare went into place, it took my own family of five’s health insurance policy from $800 a month to over $2,400 a month, more than our mortgage payment. And that’s what so many people have experienced over all these years.” When Maher heard this, he wanted a fact-check and asked Michael Moynihan if Obamacare really raised rates. To this, Moynihan replied: “These subsidies, they don’t do anything to lower costs. I mean, the only thing they do is mask costs,” before explaining that he’s paying $2,000 a month for health insurance just to cover two people.
