The group allegedly involved in threatening citizens who participate in demonstrations identifies itself as "Chui Weusi." According to publicly available videos, the group's leader is identified as Sheikh Mwaipopo, who appears speaking in the attached video. I am concerned that, to my knowledge, the Tanzanian authorities have not publicly denied these allegations or announced any investigation or questioning of the individuals involved. This has contributed to a public perception that the group may be operating with impunity.
