OBSESSION’s ending was scripted differently until two last-minute changes reshaped the final scene. In the original script, Bear swallows the pills, accepts his fate, and walks out to Nikki. Actor Michael Johnston suggested adding a moment where Bear panics and tries to throw the pills back up. Writer/Director Curry... Barker kept it, and that single change turns Bear's death from a sacrifice into a final act of cowardice. Barker also revealed the film was originally written to end with Nikki taking her own life, but his father and a few collaborators pushed him to try a version where she survives. He shot a single take of it, sure he'd never use it, then realized the bleaker image of Nikki left alive and screaming in the aftermath was the stronger ending and kept it. Brad Pitt says he took an unusual step to protect the ending of Se7en. He put it in his contract. "When I signed on to do the film, I got in my contract that the ending had to stay." Why? He'd already seen a previous project change a controversial ending. "I had experience on something before where something that was controversial got cut out." "And to me, it was why we go to movies." Sure enough, after filming, there was pressure to change Se7en's ending. "There was this push... it would be much more likable if the dog's heads were in the box." His response was immediate. "Nope. Nope." Without that contract clause, one of cinema's most unforgettable endings might never have made it to theaters.

In the end, Jon Snow realized that the Iron Throne was the root of all the bloodshed and tragedy. It had already consumed Daenerys, and there was nothing left for it to take. Drogon destroying the throne felt less like an act of rage and more like a final tribute to his mother. 🥹💔 Almost as if he was saying, "If she can't have it, then nobody will."

I may be reaching a bit here, but I believe there were several subtle hints at the beginning of the movie that suggested that the real Nikki might have been attracted to Bear, despite Sarah’s claim that she has been having secret affairs with Ian. 1. Nikki calls Bear and encourages him to join her and the rest of the friend group for trivia night 2. When they were talking at the bar, there was playful banter, and the chemistry was there 3. Nikki paid for Bear’s piña colada 4. Even when Bear was shy and hesitant to tell Nikki that she bought her a gift from the crystal store, she was still willing to listen to what he had to say 5. Nikki told Bear that he is the only person that will listen whenever she needs someone to talk to 6. Nikki said that when she has a crush on a guy, no one knows 7. Nikki wanted Bear to confess his romantic attraction to her, but got frustrated when he chickened out and just said that they’re “good friends” What do you guys think? Do you agree or disagree? In Heat, much of Al Pacino’s off the wall performance comes from Vincent Hanna being a high functioning cocaine user. Offscreen he’s secretly “chipping cocaine” - taking small, intermittent hits to stay sharp and on the ball, as Pacino explains in his autobiography Sonny Boy. “Hanna had problems as a human being, problems in his life. He was volatile and edgy and apt to go crazy. He was also chipping cocaine, and I sort of based my entire character on that. We shot a scene where I went into a club, and you actually saw my character taking a hit of coke before he enters. For some reason, Michael kept that scene out of the film.” And Michael Mann had good reason for cutting it. In the scene (which take place within the sequence below), Hanna snorts coke off the blade of a dagger; a highly charged, symbolic image. The dagger is a primitive, lethal tool that fits Hanna’s self-image as a hunter of men. It suggests that the cocaine use isn’t recreational, but tactical; a technique he uses to sharpen his senses for the hunt. Mann felt this image would send “too strong a message” and draw attention to the drug use itself, rather than Hanna’s drive and the professional rivalry between him and McCauley. “The idea was, when he (Vincent D'Onofrio) decides to reveal himself they did a special version of his makeup that was very stretchable. What he does is he grabs the back of his head and he just starts tugging on it. The idea was he would pull it as far as he could, and then we would take over stretching the image, making it appear to be distorting in a way that it physically couldn’t. Then basically when I shot Vince I just kept urging him to pull harder, and harder, and harder until finally the final take he just pulled it until the makeup just ripped. We said, ‘Okay, we got it.’ That’s what’s in the show because it’s really tugging on his face the maximum it could be done, and then we just extended that. Quentin Tarantino recounts a dinner with Robert De Niro during the making of Jackie Brown, where he asked him whether he understood when he landed the role of Vito in The Godfather Part II, that it would change his life. This guy put an ad out for free rock. He wasn’t going to use it. 8 1/2 tons worth. You come load it and you haul it away. A woman messaged him that she wanted it. He told her to bring a big truck. She showed up in a mini van with buckets and was putting the rock into buckets in the back of her van. She asked him to take the ad down and she said she would come back for the rest of it. He’s kind of laughing about it in disbelief. Maybe she doesn’t have a lot of money. Maybe she wanted to use it to make her yard look nice and couldn’t afford to buy any. Instead of making fun of the situation, how about going out there and helping her. I’d have helped her. Would you have helped that woman? Or, was his ad sufficient- free rock, you load it, you haul it away? What would you have done?

It comes with a lot of responsibilities. But if I want this company to be successful, I have to fully internalize and take responsibility for it." And that's what he did, even though he was also in the same position at SpaceX. The fact that these companies are improbable, iconic, and that he funded and led them both in parallel...it's like running a two minute mile twice at the same time. It is such a higher degree of difficulty than most people can conceive of, and the fact that it worked is still unbelievable."

They really should have kept the extended scene where she still considers killing him even after he lets her go. It was a way stronger scene, showed how consumed with anger and vengeance she was, how nervous Quaritch really was and was the first time Jake had to almost work with him for a moment. All things which I feel will become a bigger plot moments in the next film.
