Ocean plastic pollution is a symptom of a larger systemic problem. As it is not a one-dimensional problem, we are working to solve it from different angles.

This is the emergency. It’s getting into the fibre of the via mass that will end up creating all sorts of issues for the survival of everyone. With a fraction of the money that’s been spent on a climate emergency this problem could be solved. The difference is this is a real problem unlike the latter

One of the few REAL and worthy global climate projects. With so many billions of $ being wasted on "global warming" and fake "rising seas".

Crazy Idea: Trash barriers around the ports, river mouths, harbors of the worst nations (contributing to this) 'Shipping Lanes' in the netting to allow passage, but otherwise basically series of net blockades to stop it at the source

We made this video a couple of years ago and I think it's still the best summary of how ocean plastic pollution works. Key points: - <0.1% of plastic waste actually makes it to the ocean. Ocean plastic pollution is a leakage problem. - 1% of rivers contribute roughly 80% of plastic inflow. - Most of these rivers are in coastal cities in middle-income countries, where people now have enough wealth but no adequate waste collection infrastructure. - High-income countries barely contribute to the problem. OECD countries consume 1/3 of all plastic but are responsible for <0.5% of ocean inflow. If you live in a rich country and don’t litter, your contribution to the problem is basically 0. - Nearshore and offshore plastic pollution are very different. Nearshore plastic pollution mostly originates from rivers and is not very persistent; after leaving river mouths, plastic tends to drift around for weeks to months before washing up on a coastline. Plastic in the offshore gyres mostly originates from the fishing industry and is very persistent; it is trapped indefinitely because there are hardly any coastlines in these currents to ‘catch’ this waste. This is why our catch from our Interceptors and our ocean cleanup system looks totally different.

SK Hynix's Hoshik Kim admits high bandwidth memory "is not the answer" to the memory-wall problem, and SK is working on different solutions to solve the bottleneck. "No, actually, I kind of agree with Pat. So HBM is not the answer." [SK Hynix is admitting that HBM is a bad memory?] "Nothing is a bad memory. It's a good memory, but it's not the final answer. So actually, HBM will not solve the memory-wall problem. Memory-wall problem is an inherent AI problem, which you cannot avoid." "So we try our best to provide higher bandwidth with this memory, with HBM technology even though it has some limitation, as Pat already mentioned, with thermal, IOs, cost, a lot of stuff. "But that's the only thing we got right now to help ease this memory-wall problem, memory-bottleneck problem. But at the same time, we are working in different directions to solve this memory-wall problem with different solutions."

Hard to sit like this? If it is, it’s a sign…and not a good one. It means your hips are stuck and can’t move properly, which is a problem. That can lead to not just hip problems but lots of lower back problem

The problem is not Judaism or Islam. The problem is not Jews or Muslims. There is no such thing as the Palestinian problem. There is a problem and it is the existence of Zionism and Israel. There is a problem called Israel, there is a problem called occupation. The region has a big problem called Zionism and absolutely everyone needs to fight against this ideology.

Plastic pollution is one of the most serious issues facing the world's oceans, and one young inventor believes the best way to combat the growing problem is by starting with rivers. We take a look at the high-tech barge that's scooping up tons of plastic from the sea.

While trying to solve ocean plastic pollution, we've had a few unscheduled learning opportunities. Interceptor Trashfence in Guatemala was one of them. Hear it from Guillermo, who was on site when it broke back in 2022. After its failure, we deployed Interceptor 006 and 021, which are now successfully stopping trash from reaching the Gulf of Honduras.
