it's missing some chromatic abberation color shift and those shimmering borders ✨ this is the best implementation I've found so far :)

this is merely to show how to do the displacement closer for barreling 🤙 (the displacement looks off there due to over blurring/flicker) can add chromatic aberration (jus' feColorMatrix) — tbh, for the lighting, i'd try using a proper pointlight instead of updating a gradient

this is so sick! apple's also seems to do something with the edges where, when the background object hits a midpoint on the glass object, the edges of the glass reflect that color

yeah - there are some details like external elements reflecting on the outer edge too it's all a case of messin' with the displacement until you get something that "fits" that's kinda what makes it tricky because the map needs to be dynamic at runtime ideally 🧑‍🍳
