Offensive execution skills can help develop better barrel control, barrel awareness, barrel manipulation, and pitch-tracking ability. Several of these drills can also help shorten the swing, making them especially valuable when facing elite velocity or implementing an effective two-strike approach. Elite hitters don’t just train their swing, they train...

“Captains aren’t always leaders” says Jose Mourinho… …sure… …but in high performance sport, all players can develop their leadership skills. Even just a little. It starts with helping them have a simple but broad ranging definition. To lead is to influence. And all players can influence their team mates. Influence in sport starts with action. This is level one leadership. When players compete in their High Performance Mindset…when they execute every action in their High Performance Mindset…they automatically influence others. Social and emotional contagion starts with action! One level up is influencing with confidence in mind. Many, but not all players can help others develop confidence. They just need to be shown how. Simply, they can help their teammates recall best moments, strengths, and successes. They can help teammates remember these and rehearse these…every day! By tapping into memory, players can help their teammates feel great! The next level is to influence by energy. Some, but not many players can influence others’ energy. Through voice and body language (the embodiment of that voice), players can inject feelings of energy through the bodies’ of their teammates. This takes moments of extraversion. It takes willingness to bypass any social anxiety. It takes a desire to be front and centre. Through tone of voice and assertive gestures, players can inject feelings of energy in others. The highest level is influencing through solution. Few players can do this. Few players can instruct. It takes knowledge of the game model and the responsibilities in others’ roles. It takes the ability to focus on self but be minded by the games of teammates. It takes the ability to compete through cognitive overload. Action…confidence…energy…solutions And this needs to be trained in every activity in every session. It needs to be incorporated into session design and coach behaviour. It needs to be made a big deal in a coach’s practice and process. To lead is to influence. And the ability to influence can be learned by anyone who deems it important enough… ******************************** 𝐌𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩…𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Since 2020, the athletes I’ve trained have earned 32 college scholarships, including some of the biggest programs in the country. One player I helped completely rework her movement went on to become the 2022 ACC Player of the Year. What makes it special is that I’m not connected to any organization, and I don’t have hundreds of athletes cycling through. My training happens in a Little League cage, no tech, no Rapsodo, no bat speed sensors. Everything I teach comes down to one thing: learning how to move from the center out. Five years ago, I realized we were training like everyone else chasing one swing method, one path and all my hitters started to look the same. I knew something was missing. That’s when I dove into movement science, retrained my own body, and discovered that real development doesn’t come from mechanics or cookie-cutter paths. I’ve never been one to settle. Today, I have a few trusted mentors across the country whom I speak with daily about movement and hitting, and I’ve spent significant time learning from them. Most parents and coaches think the next “best drill” will fix a player’s swing. What they don’t understand is that a tool starting in the hands cannot fix the swing. Real development starts from the middle out controlling center mass first. Start at the hands or barrel, and you fight the body’s natural movement. The swing doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency and true swing change come from years of learning how to move properly. When athletes get strong, develop great habits, and understand how to control their center, development skyrockets. Stay patient. Stay consistent. Prioritize movement over results. The swing is built on movement, not mechanics. Control your center, and the rest of the body follows. Adjustability, power, and consistency all start here. At the end of the day, I don’t care what a swing looks like I care how the body moves. Every athlete who trains here learns to control their center, adapt to every pitch, and build a swing that works naturally. Control your center. Control your swing. Be the best version of yourself.

Cracker Barrel has been one of the most loved brands in America for decades… That changed this week with a logo redesign that infuriated the public but… the problem goes MUCH deeper than a logo. Cracker Barrel has gone fully woke and now it’s time to expose everything. Here’s the highlights you need to know: • Cracker Barrel has funded "all ages" Pride events for many years like Nashville Pride and Third River City Pride. • Cracker Barrel worked with the far left HRC organization and reportedly sponsored HRC events for 10 years. They even brought an HRC representative to their Tennessee HQ to do a pronoun and transgenderism training. We’ve included photos of this in the video. As a reminder, the HRC supports child sex changes and men in women’s bathrooms. They work to normalize/legalize both things and they work to force transgenderism in the workplace. • Cracker Barrel worked with a group called Conexión Américas as part of their DEI efforts. This group helps illegal immigrants, providing them lawyers and the executive director opposes President Trump’s deportations. • Cracker Barrel sponsored the Out & Equal LGBTQ Workplace Advocate Conference and presented a workshop on how Cracker Barrel has made progress supporting LGBTQ+ causes. This group works to push sexual topics and pronouns into the workplace. • Cracker Barrel was awarded Out & Equal’s 2018 top LGBT ERG group award and they won the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce "Corporate Diversity" award. • CB created a special "diverse" suppliers program focused on increasing "diversity" among suppliers. To most people this just reads as: less white people. • Had Coming out day pamphlets passed out at their TN headquarters as well as pamphlets about supporting "LGBTQ YOUTH" and creating "Safe Zones" at work, free from "heterosexist or cwordgendered comments and actions" (X will downrank my post if I spell that word out). If you said anything activists would describe as "heterosexist" then you were told that you’d be "educated" by their LGBT office group. • CB has had multiple DEI focused employees and had CB employees attend DEI roundtables. • CB had pride flags at their corporate office. • CB promoted the Stonewall riot to employees and on their website despite the fact that the Stonewall Inn was reportedly owned by the mafia, rife with drug dealing and also the site of teen "prostitution" for older men. • Had a Cracker Barrel employee on the HRC’s business advisory council. • Has ERG groups in the office that are divided by race and sexual preferences. • A total commitment to DEI policies. • CB has had MANY activist employees driving this far left policy agenda, including a head of training + management, top execs and a board of directors member who owns a DEI consulting firm. To put it mildly, Cracker Barrel has forgotten who their core customers are. It’s time for us to remind them. They depend on YOU to keep their business afloat so now YOU have to ask yourself: Do you want to fund people or companies that hate your values? It’s time to remind them who their customers are. If you think their values don’t align with yours and you’re a customer who wants to speak out, you can write to them here: Reporters can also call their reporter hotline at: 615-235-4135 or email them: [email protected] Remember to ALWAYS BE KIND. Many in customer service agree with you. Being rude hurts our cause! I give everyone permission to use my video and what we found to make your own content. You can rip this, clip this, make your own content, etc. You can even monetize my video. Just get this information to everyone you know. We have to take our power back as consumers. Philadelphia Eagles coach, Nick Sirianni: “Effort is free. You can control your effort” No it’s not and no you can’t! Effort is metabolically costly. You can say ‘effort is free’ every single day and players will still slack off; drop in intensity; give into distractions; be avoidant…to name a few behaviours. Effort is far from free. With every ounce of effort, sugars and glucose that power the brain deplete. Neural fatigue sets in throughout the course of the day. Anxiety is rife in competitive environments meaning effort can be quicker to atrophy. Effort is far from free… It’s also not completely under your control, not only for the very reasons above. Psychology offers us the law of least work: given a choice between similarly rewarding options, organisms learn to avoid those that require more work or effort. A better message? “To high perform and win, we have to put in enormous effort. And this is very, very hard. We’re going to support you to put in effort by giving you the environment, the education, and the skills to ensure that you can optimise your effort daily. By giving you this support we will be demanding. We will stretch you more than any other group of players in the NFL. This won’t be a comfortable process…but we will help you put more effort in that you thought possible…” What can be done? -education and support plans on nutrition; training; sleep; effective rest and recuperate; and lifestyle tools for daily planning -daily training structures that optimise periods during the day where effort can be optimised -engagement tools that help players engage during meetings and training…that help them exert effort appropriately and optimally -learning skills that help players apportion effort during training…that help them self-regulate their learning and practice deliberately -competitive mental skills that optimise player ability to compete while reducing the stress of competition By sending the message that effort is hard, but then providing the environment and skills to train and compete with enormous effort you are helping players develop ‘learned industriousness’ where effort can be experienced as valuable or rewarding in its own right. Effort is neither free nor controllable. But through environmental intervention and upskilling, coaches can help players take control of their effort and experience effort as rewarding.
