Everyone knew that Ferris was the instigator behind all of this. I dont think Dylan actually believed Oilers would not matched and was likely told by Ferris and his agent that they would match and this would get him the money he wanted. It didnt turn out that way and why Holloway fired his agent after that. He is now sitting playing for a non-playoff team but making dollars. I guess it is all about which you value more.

Snooze alert - 2 off-seasons later - oilers went back to cup and made the playoffs StL tinkered around that 1st season and no playoffs the next season Whoopity-doo they scammed at a team at a weak moment and karma has bit them in the ass since. Gonna be lottery again.

So its clear, based on how Ferris lined things up so Edmonton couldnt easily match the offer sheets, that both players wanted out of Edmonton. The blame here still lies at the feet of Jackson, who prioritized signing Arvidson and Skinner over Holloway and Broberg. Very damaging!
