Officer arrested and fired for driving on duty while intoxicated. The Eustis Police Department received calls about a reckless driver. They didn't expect to find a fellow officer from a neighboring agency behind the wheel of a marked cruiser. Apopka Officer Oscar Mayorga was found in full uniform with... an open container in the cupholder. He was visibly staggering, initially claiming a medical emergency. After being questioned by the v officers on site, Oscar first was claiming he was suffering from seizures, to taking a bunch of benadryl, to then finally admitting that he was under the influence. Medical tests later revealed a blood alcohol level of .391—a level many experts consider life-threatening. He admitted to consuming multiple large beers before heading to work. Oscar didn't just receive a slap on the wrist. Mayorga was suspended, eventually lost his job, and was convicted of DUI. Sheriff deputy busted literally hanging out of his car drunk. A routine patrol turned into a major internal affairs situation when a San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officer discovered an off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) detention officer passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle. The incident unfolded when an SAPD officer noticed a vehicle acting erratically before coming to a stop. Upon approaching the car, the officer found John Guzman unconscious in the driver’s seat. Making the situation incredibly dangerous, the vehicle’s engine was still running, and the transmission was actively left in Drive. Guzman's head was leaning out of the window, and there was vomit on the pavement directly next to the driver's side door. Once officers managed to wake Guzman and get him out of the vehicle, his physical state made the situation clear. Officers in Weed, California, pulled over a driver after multiple driving infractions and requested a K9 unit for a narcotics investigation. The K9 then alerted the officers about a car stereo system the suspect had in the backseat of his car. Officers inspected the suspicious stereo that was not connected to the car and found what they described as a substantial amount of methamphetamines inside the stereo. This is the same department that arrested a ex-Swampscott police officer for a DUI and fired for "supplying cocaine" to other officers at the Lynn PD. There was also talk of 'perc 30's." The incident happened after the suspect secretly removed his left hand from his handcuffs. When officers began driving to jail, the suspect attempted to open the squad car's rear door, prompting the officers to get out of the car, and eventually climbed into the driver’s seat and took off. One of the officers managed to jump into the backseat of the vehicle. That officer then attempted to stop the suspect by tasing him and striking him on the side of the head with his firearm. The suspect opened the driver’s side door and jumped out after driving what police said was a distance of about 1,000 feet. At that point, the police officer was able to regain control of the patrol car, and the suspect was given medical assistance before being taken back into custody, where he faces numerous charges.

He was searched when stopped and was found with 3000 in cash on his person. Moon knew exactly how much money he had and suspected Officer Henry Chapman of taking some of his money to the tune of 900 dollars. The bodycam footage later revealed the truth: Chapman had palmed the cash and stuffed it into the driver’s side door pocket of his patrol cruiser. Officer Chapman was arrested by his own department within 6 hours of the incident. He resigned from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department the very next day. In September 2024, Chapman entered an Alford Plea to felony embezzlement. While he claimed he didn't have "intent to steal," he acknowledged the evidence was enough to convict him. He was handed 2 years of supervised probation and ordered to complete cognitive behavioral therapy. Because Moon spoke up and the supervisor checked the footage, a badge couldn't hide a crime. NEW: Chicago police open fire on the driver of a wanted vehicle in Humboldt Park. According to police, the white Mercedes was possibly linked to a shooting that happened on Monday. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the man started driving before allegedly hitting a woman and crashing into a CTA bus multiple times. "The vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian in the street and continued to flee... [He] struck the bus multiple times with the vehicle and struck an unmarked squad car," police said, adding that a gun was recovered from the vehicle. "As officers attempted to stop the vehicle and place the driver into custody, one officer discharged their service weapon, striking the offender." The man was hit in the chest and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The family of the man claims he was getting food when he was "swarmed by officers" and says they thought police could have done more to de-escalate the situation. The woman who was hit by the Mercedes was injured. Two officers suffered minor injuries.
