Harare District traffic police commander, Chief Superintendent Michael Mumany, today led his team to control the flow of traffic along Mutare Road between Zimre Park and Mabvuku. The control was implemented following numerous complaints from motorists about congestion that took more than an hour to reach town. The regime has refused me to see our incarceration people's journalist Blessed Mhlanga at Harare Remand prison today in the morning. The officer in charge of the day Supritendent Shuureki told me that he has been advised by the Commissioner General of Prisons Moses Chihobvu that he should not allow me to see Dhara. CHENNAI CITY POLICE COMMISSIONER A AMALRAJ ASSUMES CHARGE ON FRIDAY A. Amalraj, a 1996-batch IPS officer, assumed charge as the Chennai City Police Commissioner on Friday morning following orders issued by the Tamil Nadu government. Amalraj formally took charge around 8.30 am at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office after signing official documents in his chamber. Senior police officers were present during the brief function. Soon after assuming office, Amalraj proceeded to Raj Bhavan in Guindy to review security arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony of MLAs Shajahan of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and Vanni Arasu of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK). The two legislators were inducted into the state cabinet of the TVK-led government headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. The state government issued the transfer orders on Thursday. Additional Chief Secretary K. Manivasan directed the officers concerned to assume charge immediately. As part of the reshuffle, Additional Director General of Police Abhin Dinesh Modak was transferred and posted as head of the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID), replacing T.S. Anbu. Amalraj previously served in various senior positions in the Tamil Nadu police department, including Commissioner of Police in Tambaram, Coimbatore and Tiruchi cities.

Former boxing champion Alfonso “Mosquito” Zvenyika says he is struggling financially and needs help to pay for his wife’s medical treatment. His wife has been sick since last year, and he has already sold part of his property to cover hospital bills. He also fell ill at one point while she was still unwell. To raise money, he plans to walk from Marondera to Harare Main Post Office to ask for support for her medication and two operations. After he ordered my first arrest, I was detained for two days at Harare Central Police Station before being locked up at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison for 45 days. His officers took me to my Chisipite home to search the entire property for two consecutive days. I was very blunt with the officer commanding the notorious Law and Order section, a Mr Chafa, as his officers searched for fictitious weapons that I was supposedly going to use to overthrow the government, a ploy to stop me from revealing more of Mnangagwa's corruption scandals. This was on 21 July 2020, the person talking in the background was my lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa. You need to have a dedicated, brilliant, fearless and eloquent lawyer when you are faced with a ruthless machine like ZANUPF!

On Sunday afternoon, in a drive at the Gourkanya Bus Terminus in Malda, names, logos and stickers mimicking those of government buses were removed from several private buses. Many private buses were operating with colour schemes (blue and white) and names resembling those of the state transport corporation. The use of such colours and names was causing confusion among passengers, particularly women. Following an order from the state government, free travel for women on government buses was introduced on 1 June. However, due to the visual similarity between government and private buses, many female passengers were inadvertently boarding private buses and subsequently getting hassled. Some private buses were displaying names like NBTS, MBTSG, and MMT to mimic the name of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC). Additionally, the vehicles were painted blue and white, just like government buses. On Sunday afternoon, Anupam Chakraborty, the regional transport officer (RTO) of the district, arrived at the Gourkanya Bus Terminus with transport department staff. There, misleading logos and stickers were removed from several private buses. Furthermore, markings and text imitating the state transport corporation’s branding were painted over with black ink. Passengers expressed relief at this move by the transport department. They believe that a clear distinction between government and private buses will prevent future confusion and significantly reduce harassment, especially for female passengers. Maloy Karmakar, in charge of the Malda Depot of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation, stated that the blue-and-white colour scheme has been used on NBSTC buses for many years, and the colour of private buses is not within their jurisdiction. However, he noted that female passengers often ask if a bus is a government one; NBSTC buses are painted blue and white as per government regulations, while the RTO office would be the authority to speak on bus colour specifications.

It was here that Lt. Col. Thomas Ebisingha Alari and his troops of the 19 Battalion, 199 Battalion, and 149 Battalion made their heroic last stand against the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, pushing back wave after wave of insurgents before paying the ultimate price. The exclusive footage obtained by Zagazola reveals the raw intensity of the confrontation. a demonstration to the courage of soldiers who stood their ground against overwhelming odds. Before the encounter that claimed their commander’s life, the troops had already eliminated over 70 terrorist combatants, including three notorious commanders: TALHA, a ruthless special forces leader; Mallam Umar, and Abu Yazeed, another Fiye (Commanding Officer). It was a battle fought with unyielding resolve. As the terrorists launched a massive assault, deploying a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) to breach the military’s defenses, the troops fought back fiercely. The explosion shook the battlefield, but the soldiers held their ground, raining fire on the enemy with precision and determination. The terrorists were hard saying “Amaliya and scampering for safety after a bomb was lunched in their location, which killed some of them. Lt. Col. Alari was no ordinary commander. He was a warrior, a leader who fought side by side with his men, never retreating, never faltering. Even as the battle raged and the odds stacked against them, he remained resolute, rallying his troops with unwavering bravery. Like a Spartan in his final stand, he refused to yield. He fought until his last breath, ensuring that his men had done what they could to repel the terrorists before he fell in the heat of combat. His death was not in vain. His sacrifice, and that of his fellow soldiers, ensured that the terrorists suffered devastating losses. This is the unspoken reality of those who defend Nigeria. The footage tells a story beyond words the sheer grit, the sacrifice, and the undying patriotism of troops who face death daily so that others can live in peace. Today, we honor Lt. Col. I am extremely grateful that despite the enormous responsibilities of leading our nation, His Excellency graciously ACCEPTED my invitation and honoured our Church with his presence. 🙏🏽🇿🇼 Leadership at the highest level carries immense responsibility, and I firmly believe that no man can occupy such an office without the permission and GRACE OF GOD. Our President is a man who respects GOD and understands the importance of FAITH in leadership. Under his stewardship, Zimbabwe continues pursuing its developmental agenda, driven by his vision, policies and determination to see our country PROSPER. Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, vachitungamirirwa naMWARI. 🙏🏽 The spiritual message delivered at our conference was equally powerful: that His Excellency is our modern-day JOSHUA, entrusted with leading Zimbabwe towards its CANAAN. The message further declared that his assignment should continue for not less than 28 years. Your Excellency, if we count from 2017, mathematics takes us to 2045 😂😂😂…so perhaps the calculators must now come out!!! What matters most is that GOD'S WILL and the will of the PEOPLE must always prevail. Thank you once again, YOUR EXCELLENCY, for honouring my invitation and respecting the Church and the Kingdom of GOD. Zimbabwe is indeed BLESSED to have a Head of State and Government who recognises the importance of SPIRITUAL guidance, national unity and development.
