At the time, no evidence was publicly presented, only the allegation. Social media and blogs immediately ran with it. People labeled him a r*pist, sent threats, and even said he didn’t deserve his children. The situation was further fueled by people bringing up the 2009 Rihanna case as a reason to automatically believe the new claim. Chris Brown denied the allegations. In March 9, 2022, his team released voice notes and messages from the accuser that suggested consensual communication after the alleged incident. Her begging Brown to answer his phone. Shortly after that, the accuser’s legal team withdrew, the lawsuit was dropped, and no criminal charges were filed. Notice how the allegation went viral… but the dismissal barely made headlines. I even shared a meme about the situation, and Chris Brown reposted it to his story. The accuser faced no consequences for making the claim. And to this day, people still repeat the accusation as if it were proven fact. This is why allegations are not convictions.This is why due process matters. And this is why I speak on this topic.
