He had to switch out because of a loose horse not exactly his fault is it and he rode it out the line there’s not much more he could’ve done to win that

Why is everyone mentioning the loose horse? He goes clear after that switch and has the rail and still gets beat.

He took it easy (my opinion) and didn't realise the second was finding so much. If he is more forceful in the closing stages and asks for more sooner he wins. Goes for the whip again too late. Shouldn't be getting beat like that.

I personally think he always was gonna get caught after the switch, if you look at the photo it wasn’t as close as it looks in the video

Bottomless ground at the end of over 3m, horse was bolloxed and the unseated horse hampered him and had to gather him back up, he just got beaten by the horse with the clearer run when it mattered and the momentum

That horse doesn’t like being out front for too long he’s well known for it. The faller at the last hurt him cause I’d imagine plan was to follow him and pass close to line. Perfect ride by Mark Walsh I’d say just unlucky. Great race either way
