Honestly 9/10 has a completely different feel to 11/12 and I love both

My main take aways from the special: - They made this anticipating fans reaction to S2 and Ncuti leaving. (Not certain, but it gave me that vibe). - They'll never admit the wrongs done to Chris. - Wish Matt & Peter were in it too. - Great advertisement for Wales & Cardiff.

He is 100% right in this assessment. The show PROGRESSED under his direction, and Chibnall’s run(though I dislike it) actually moved forward; current DW has regressed into a nostalgia sink where everything is referring to a better era rather than doing something new.

unsure how this lines up in his head though with rtd coming back as showrunner again and the fact he himself has written for the show for several years either side of his 7-year-long showrunning era

Think this was a bit of a hint at where the should go. RTD2 era should end with David and Billie getting an end of story one off episode and that should lead into either 16th or 17th doctor as we don’t know who Billie is yet. I’ve liked RTD2 but it’s time for something new again

Please can we have an actor that sticks it out for a number of years like Tom Baker did, I’m so sick of a new Doctor every 3 seasons, I never realised Matt Smiths era was so short at only 3 years.

This explains a lot as to why his run with Capaldi thematically and as a swan song is sooo good.
