Growing up my dad always walked behind us and he said it was to stay alert and keep us protected. He never walked in front.

I've seen men totally ignore their young children on long flights leaving their wives to take care of them the entire time. I made sure I didn't marry anyone like that. You can tell what they're like before you marry them.

Depends on the country, as in culture, family, community, friends, customs, honour, and respect. If he's raised right, this won't happen. If he sees his parents respecting one another, this won't happen. If he sees his friends being respectful to women, this won't happen.
