Oh my, Vinnie Pasquantino is describing the difficulties he's facing after raising his bat speed. How raising the effort level causes you to cheat out in front. This is exactly what I see all the time. Video credit to Micah Franklin

"there wasn't any concerted effort to just increase the bat speed" Anyone in a new body that can naturally just move faster will need to make adjustments. Without working on these adjustments will lead to failure. Like adding a new engine to a car, it will drive differently. But instead, all you heard was "I started to chase more" "Am I over swinging". He mentioned he pulled a cutter 108 into the stands because of his new found bat speed. Followed it with "it might not necessarily be the bat speed, but the effort of trying to get out front" Sounds like he needs @DrivelineBB to learn HOW to swing the bat fast. It is not an automatic "swing faster" and that's it. New power comes with new responsibility. But, ignore the whole clip you posted and just bang your drum.

@micahf56 When we look at bat speed and bat speed training, how much of our movement patterns become altered in order to move the barrell faster. Instead, maybe we should focus more on moving in a balanced and coordinated manner, as this might yield the best results for the individual

@micahf56 To me it sounds like problem he's describing is a timing issue. Like he swings the bat faster, so he has more time to decide and he hasn't adjusted yet. if he's swinging with the same amount of physical/mental effort as last year, then it's just timing that's the problem
