When Melissa and Mark Hortman were killed in an act of political violence, the gunman also took the life of their beloved dog Gilbert. Their son Colin shared with me that after an earlier threat was made on his mother’s life she decided to get a dog. Gilbert was a golden retriever who Melissa planned to keep until he finished his service dog training. It turned out that Gilbert was too friendly to be a traditional service dog, but would go on to be of great service to the Hortman family. Melissa and Mark loved Gilbert and Gilbert loved them back. And we miss them all every day.

Mark allegedly asked the Peep for to stay with her and when she said no, his girlfriend Monique showed up at the Peep’s apartment. Monique smashed the windows to her apartment and then neighbors. She then fled the scene after going for the door. (Tool in hand was an axe). Sidenote: that apartment is filthy. Forget love. Clean up!

A dog was fatally shot by the Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday night after officers responded to reports of a screaming woman inside an apartment building. The department said when authorities responded to the woman's apartment, they requested she secure her dog who was barking by her side. She closed her door momentarily, but when she re-opened it, the dog charged at an officer, the LAPD claims. The woman says she and her family, including her dog, were just celebrating the New York Knicks' championship win when the incident unfolded.

This tiny New York City apartment, 80 x 150, goes for $650 a month! 🤯 She has no oven and her bed is up a ladder and there is about two to three feet of space from the bed to the ceiling. Her bathroom is actually outside the apartment down the hall. She has to walk past her neighbors to get to it. She goes up on the roof outside to get some space, do some work and maybe a little yoga. But get this, she has a dog! She said she sometimes leaves the dog in the apartment or she takes him to daycare. 🤔 I could not live like that. I could not sleep like that and I could not shower like that. And, I could not have a dog in such a small space. Many, many people said that she should not have a dog and should not be allowed to have a dog in such a tiny apartment. Do you think it is cruel to have the dog with her? My neighbor always walks the dog at all hours of the day, rain or shine. She has a huge dog she can’t control, it actually walks her most of the time. This guy here has no excuse letting his dog on a leash get away, that thing is tiny. Yet he thinks it’s the man’s fault that his dog got nudged. What would you do if your neighbors dog got loose and they blamed your dog reacting to it, he needs to get his dog under control and get a life. Anyways, the neighbor with the big dog was walking her dog and it got away from her and ran into the street. Another neighbor was coming home from work and didn’t have time to react to it, she ended up hitting the dog causing a good amount of damage to her car and scuffing up the dog pretty good. The lady walking her dog had a fit of course and blamed the neighbor for hitting her dog. The neighbor retorted that she wouldn’t have hit it if the lady had it under control and isn’t run into the street. The lady ended up calling the cops, the cops came and cleared the neighbor of wrong doing. There were plenty of witnesses that saw it and we all see the dog pulling her all the time anyways. After the accident we didn’t see the lady walking her dog much anymore, her oldest son would do it most of the time to his annoyance but it was a better thing, he could control it where as his mother could not. I didn’t want to involve myself in their argument but I did tell the lady it was her fault, and that she needs to pay for the other neighbors car. Up until that point she was refusing to cooperate much. I never did ask if she paid but I have a feeling she did, the neighbor can be quite convincing when she needs to be.

At the moment of the attack, she was on the balcony and recorded the first minutes after the strike. "I heard my dog howling. My legs went limp when I heard my daughter screaming, 'Dad, help me!' She was in her room at that moment, and the windows fell on her. Her father ran to her; he had been in the bathroom. He went there to wash his hands a minute before the explosion, and that saved his life," Natalia said. After the strike, the building began to collapse. Natalia's neighbor Roma and his daughter Yaroslava fell from their apartment onto her second floor, and Yaroslava's boyfriend, Danyil, fell all the way to the first floor.
