Imagine the annoyance of trying to remember exactly where your cooking zones are. Rushing to make a quick dinner and you come back to see your pan was off by 6 inches and your dinner is only half cooked. It’s a cool concept but not practical. Unless the whole surface is single induction coil, in which case fine. But that sort of limits you since you would only have one power setting for any pan on it. Maybe a subtle engraving or lines on the counter surface, or even some light projectors built into the backsplash to show where the zones are.

100 years ago everyone involved in this sorcery would be burned alive.

Problem is, no matter how cool that is (and it is), I'm never giving up my gas stovetop. Yeah, I have an induction burner and I like it for some things, but some things can only be done with real fire.

I’m used to cooking on gas stoves and electric is THE WORST. What a pain in the ass. Takes forever to heat and always inconsistent. The future is here!! These new induction stove tops boil a pot of water in 60 seconds, on demand instant power, and only heats the pan using magnetic resonance. So consistent! A 6 is always a 6 and you get what you expect in that heat range. If you’re looking for electric stove stop (what a nighmtare) spend the extra couple of bucks and get the induction. I’m surprised to say it crushes cooking with gas by a long shot!
