The key to booking(dot)com is to pay them directly or pay at reception. Never pay someone who messages you directly, never make payments to the person sending you payment details on booking(dot)com. That is a scam. Happened to me once and it never happened again but all in all booking(dot)com is a great app. The best infact. The only thing that sucks is owners who list their property and just forget they ever listed it. You arrive at a place and call the owner and they tell you the owner is on vacation or not in town 😒

I prefer to use a hotel or lodge’s direct booking because @bookingcom always finds ways to absolve themselves. Airbnb & VRBO are much better for these house bookings unfortunately. They’d have refunded you nicely after seeing this proof.

Once booked a place got there and security said someone checked in already. This was around 8pm and we had booked for 3 nights. The headache of finding suitable accommodation for 6 people in CPT on event weekends! They did refund but yoh!

This happened to me twice. I’m still waiting for my refund on two bookings.

If u made a booking via ur booking is guaranteed. Shud u arrive at the accommodation and u find it was a scam, u have all the rights to call and they will find u an alternative or fully refund u. As long as payment went via them.

Yoh is a global scam, you book thinking it's done. When you arrive at the location the drama begins 🤣🤣

Deleted that app when I pulled up to a location at 11pm and the owner said I have no booking with them😭 luckily they had a room available and I paid them directly… did refund me though.
