How can a passenger commit a traffic violation? Are we presuming the driver switched seats before getting pulled over?

Yeah.. this won't result in more high speed chases w/the Police.. Another reason they'll use to justify Flock Cameras.. "You don't want us pulling you over, we'll just mail you the ticket. Don't pay it, you'll have a warrant and Flock will find you."

Um, you have the RIGHT to remain SILENT.

Ohio is quickly becoming a rabid police state...

Hey that’s @MorganTrau! And cops in Ohio have acted like this was the law long before now.

@GovMikeDeWine @DaveYostOH @OhioHRA @OhioSenateGOP whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Right to privacy? Invasion of privacy? Right to remain silent? Who put this unconstitutional crap as law?

who cares. yes Sir/Maam, here is my license. the end. and I 100% support this & it’s worth it in order to find out if someone is an illegal alien. 25 million illegal savage invaders in our country, so yes we have to be inconvenienced.

Good

@GovMikeDeWine unless they are from haiti then they can do what they want. Only will get worse once the poopjeet is governor

If I’m a passenger in someone’s car I’m a passenger. I’m not involved in anyway in the interaction between the micropenis or lesbian cop and the driver. The cop pulls the DRIVER over for whatever infraction they try for. Therefore I’m in no way getting involved.

If you did not do anything wrong what do you have to worry about?

Congrats on the future 4th Amendment Rights Lawsuits.

The state of surveillance on our freedoms. This is exactly why flock cameras are being cut down. Now they want to know who everyone is in our vehicles too. Our freedoms are being infringed upon.

H0W GAY!!!

Funny I just always give my license and comply. Probably why I never have any problems and drive away every time.

Does it actually require showing their ID or just answering the 3 Qs? The text of the law states no operator/passenger shall refuse to disclose their name, address, or date of birth when requested by a peace officer who reasonably suspects that they have committed a violation.

historically this was called "freedom papers".. this aint nothing new in 250 years of amerikkka.. black folks already knew we were in a police state.. "just comply" right? george w bush took away freedom with the patriot act.. never forget

Also a lot of children now days looks like adults and most children don't have IDs so is police going to pull them out the cars? Now they will definitely face lawsuits plus the 4th amendment lawsuits on top of abusing children among other lawsuits. Let the lawsuits begin.

WTH 🤦♀️

No reasonable suspicion of any laws broken they get NOTHING Channel 5 do better inform people the entire law not just part of it

The Supreme Court going to shut this down

THIS after ohio was voted the #1 state to conduct business 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

Good

This isn’t clarified very well. Still need reasonable suspicion to force ID from passengers. It seems the bill only increases penalties. Doesn’t change current law

Police need that Crack. Aka ID.

No thank you for this bill .@sharonrayohio & .@AbramsforOhio & .@GovMikeDeWine

The 4th amendment is soooo overrated...🙄

Fun Fact - Cops in Ohio have been asking passengers for I.D. FOR YEARS. The passengers I've known about, all complied bcuz they didn't want to go to jail...

Sounds right to me.

Crime doesn't pay.

Good. Law is the law.

Thank God.

Amazing news! God Bless America.

This is definitely unconstitutional Hope the SC will hear this matter
