Ok, so what did this guy do wrong? Far too impatient obviously, but what else?

@RogerBernards Not enough tongue weight on his trailer.

The guy driving the boat was following that truck way too close, he should have waited to pass

Haha, best comment finalist! 🏆 😂😂😂😂

That's what the drunk driver tells the state trooper "Man, ossifer, you shouln'a seen that boat come up behind me, I couln't get away matter how fass I wen, he's a road rage boat attacker or smthm"

😂😂😂 You must know my Uncle.

Untrailering a boat out of water is high on the list.

Lol

The main thing he did wrong was buying a boat. Stupid people should not own boats.

Too cheap to buy trailer brakes. He could have just reached down and given them a little bump and it would have straightened out.

The smooth air draft he had when he was behind those cars, turned into turbulence when passed the other cars, (you can see it begin when he gets halfway between both cars). This created to wobble that turned into a bad harmonic effect that the driver couldn't fix. He should have just took his foot off the gas and slowed down gradually.

@lakemonstercl1 Don’t speed downhill when what you are pulling is heavier than the towing vehicle and you don’t have electric brakes on the trailer.

In that situation, you have to accelerate your way out of it.

@LynneB8898 He bought a boat. 🤦🏼♂️

Not enough tongue weight. I learned this the hard way, as a young man, with a backhoe on a trailer. Bad day..

😬

@GossettIii 😂😂😂

He showed those camel caravan left lane hoggers. But I feel his pain. I drive a lot. And a lot of people don’t know how to drive.

Trailers for cars and small trucks are not designed to run at high speeds! If he applied more tongue weight he might have been fine?

@RickD_GK First... that isn't the boat ramp...

@RickD_GK 😂😂😂

Most trailers aren't designed to go higher speeds, they're not balanced correctly, their axles are not necessarily aligned correctly, they use bias ply tires, and higher speeds cause wobbles like that, and then it was evident that he had zero experience or he may have had a lot of experience but didn't learn very well and he tried to correct the shimmy with his steering wheel which is a blatant no no. anybody driving with a trailer should know better, his impatience destroyed everything he had.

poorly securing the load. He definitely needed a load-balancing hitch and better distribution

@pr0ud_americans When your trailer begins to sway, you accelerate out of it. Braking. Just makes it worse

Clearly loaded wrong. He should have put his fishing pole more towards the front.

Lol

You just know he was just as big of an asshole in that boat on the water too.

What did he do wrong? He bought a boat!

😂😂😂

Didn't honk and flick the other two vehicles that were in the wrong lane first because they are passive aggressive losers. Judge me all you want.

@baker_girlie The trailer axels were too far from the trailer hitch, creating an unstable center of gravity. With high speed and swerve, physics took over and the mass of the boat created too much unstable momentum.💥

@CreasonJana These are some of the idiots that run up are car insurance rates!

Too much weight in the back of the trailer for that speed.

Impatience while towing anything weighty is the entry ramp for extreme trouble.

Well that vacation went off without a hitch.

Excessive speed with a trailer that has improper weight distribution (more weight to the rear of the trailer instead of being toward the hitch).

He was driving like the boat owed him money. Classic ‘I’m not waiting for the passing lane’ energy → instant karma trailer edition.

He forgot to drop his Anchor ⚓

Trailer was going out of control almost as soon as he started the pass, but let ego and ignorance accelerate through it. Had he let off gas and maintained control (no breaks), the weight of the trailer would have slowed him to safety.

The majority of the weight in his boat was behind the axles-unbalanced load.

1.) Speed 2.) lack of centered weight in his boat (majority of weight needs to be closest to the center) this prevents sway. 3.) over-correcting. To stop the sway, slow down, don't try to correct the sway, that only makes it way worse until the jackknife. 4.) Did he drain his boat? If not he should have. He should have just let off the accelorator as the sway began until he got to a place he could pull over and recenter the weight further back and slow the hell down.. It isn't a race, especially when you are hauling things.

@Texas_jeep__guy Needs a better hitch with sway bars. Never towed our trailer without these. Expensive yes but not nearly as expensive as this.

@Profesrfrankly He was in to much of a hurry to get to the lake. 🤦🏼♀️

The only way a trailer would start swaying like that is not enough tongue weight. Wonder what he threw in the back of the boat that should've been loaded in the front.
