1. The shooter never got out of the car meaning he didn't want to participate in all this. 2. The deceased was holding a fire arm trying to stop the shooter from leaving. 3. The deceased slapped both the guy who was trying to diffuse the situation and the shooter.

Self defence. Any moment you feel that you life may be threatened. You have 2 options, fight or flight. The driver was inside his car and ready to flight, but due to circumstances he was prevented and the behaviour of the deceased was aggressive. So he had to defend himself.

Facts

Self defence, the guy was holding a gun and acting aggressive. A reasonable person would think his behaviour demonstrated that he wanted to shoot the guy in the car. It's a matter of the guy in the car getting killed or defending himself. Any reasonable person would defend himself. This is straight forward.

Trigger happy. Had no gun drawn at him and still fired 6 rounds. Voluntary manslaughter.

I think it depends if the investigators want money or not.
