One of the most common secondary trends across the NCAA and the NBA the last two seasons has been ‘Slot Flare’ into a rescreen. Traditionally, secondary transition has been dominated by away and drag screens. With the increase in drop coverage, defenses have naturally funneled these directly to the rim protector. The slot flare organically lifts the big to the shooter OR sticks the POA defender, setting up the flip screen with the coverage distorted, creating better advantage.

Back in 2025, Giannis hung out with some media and Heat staffers after the Bucks/Heat post game interviews in the away Locker Room to watch the rest of the Duke-Houston Final Four matchup. He missed the first team bus and then the second one to watch it. He was the last Bucks player in the Locker Room. The rest of the team? Well…..it was a Saturday night in Miami. Giannis really loves basketball. Now that he’s on the Heat, he’s in the perfect situation. This was one of my favorite moments covering the Heat over the past few seasons. I posted this on my IG last year. (Second image is a screen shot from a video)

Rough night last night for Hyeseong Kim for AAA OKC, who had 3Ks. He also drew 2 walks, but one of the BIG, possibly the BIGGEST reasons he's in AAA is to see if he can reduce his strikeout totals. So, while I rarely do these kinds of posts, I think it's super relevant in his case to highlight the "process" of him closing his holes and getting back to LA. Kim, so far, has a K% of 27.3, which is down 3 points from last year, so improvement, especially before last night, but gotta keep workin'. #dodgers #dodgersprospects

It’s been an outrageous weekend for Vanderbilt Baseball 2026 commit RJ Cope, a 6-foot-8 first baseman and lefty with top-of-scale raw juice from the left side at the plate. The big man is 10-for-16 with a homer, double, four walks to two Ks and three stolen bases. It’s a no-doubt power over hit profile but he’s done an outstanding job of waiting for his pitch and depositing it in gaps like in the video below when he put a defensive two-strike swing on a ball to cash in runs for his team in a critical spot. All of this and Cope is still new to hitting. His potential is off the charts with the bat.

In fairness we have two slightly different camera angles. Paul is such an elite athlete that he’s doing one of two things. His movement pattern is either being shaped by: 1. Chasing some sort of new pitch shape/execution. 2. OR he’s creating a new compensation pattern around either a physical KPI that’s gone unchecked or a small, nagging injury. Either way, all we are seeing is a symptom. What we see is a reflection of some sort of constraint that has shifted him away from the best version of himself. Hopefully there’s already a plan in place to adjust accordingly. These guys are such elite-level compensators. The holy grail is keeping those compensations within the guardrails to increase the likelihood of maintaining health and performance simultaneously. Video courtesy of Nicholas Callas

Today’s #Harvest26 update comes from Gary Frank of Gary Frank Farms and Harvesting in Scott County. Frank and his team are at the beginning of their corn harvest, having cut 10,000 of their 80,000 acres to cut for this season. They started cutting a week ago with high moisture corn just inside Gove County with a sample load moisture of 30.4%. The field in Gove got hit early and hard with a couple hailstorms and they received about half of the rainfall of his Scott County fields, so yields there were a little lower at 60 bu./acre. Normal opening day for the feedyard high moisture pit is the Tuesday after Labor Day. The pit has already been open for two weeks this year. For the Scott County fields, Monday’s hand shelled sample was 35% moisture. The moisture tested at the feedyard today was 28% with a 52.2 test weight, a notably significant dry down. Yields were between 70-100 bu./acre. Frank commented that Scott County farmers may be disappointed in this year’s yields compared to last year’s bumper crop even with the rainfall seen this season. He also noted smaller kernels and uneven ear fill in the fields.

Last night, another Jewish synagogue in London was firebombed, this time in Kenton. This is the third such attack in as many days, and also comes after the recent ambulance arson attack and a supposed drone threat against the Israeli embassy in London this week. This is now becoming a terrifying spate of daily arson attacks on the Jewish community. It betrays a cataclysmic failure of the state – politicians, police chiefs and prosecutors – to tackle antisemitic extremism in this country, which has gone largely unchecked for two and a half years. Britain is fundamentally a different country now. Still the Government refuses to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, an obvious first step to address foreign radicalisation and interference. It is shocking if apparent concern for the sensitivities of a violent Iranian regime is more important to the Government than the welfare of Jewish people in this country.
